Background
The North American Baptists Conference is a national organization
unifying Baptist Churches across the U.S., including Canada.
With a staff of 25 and more than 20 Regional Ministers working
remotely, they needed Telephone System support, VoIP capabilities,
IT Helpdesk Support, VPN support and functional maintenance
for multiple DC's, Exchange and File/Print servers and desktop
users.
Client Requests
• Modernization and consolidation to a Virtual Network
Environment
• A Business-class Phone system to support remote
VoIP phones for Remote Ministers, along with internal users
• Daily support of users for VPN access, Desktop OS
and Application support
Challenges
• 7+ year old servers running 2K3
• Legacy Phone system unable to support unified communications
• Limited budget for renovations
Interstate Solutions
We suggested the following to meets the client needs:
- Toshiba CIX Phone System with VoIP capabilities allowing
remote IP Telephone users the same level of functionality
externally as the internal users had.
- Implimentation of a VMWare vSphere 4 Virtual Host Enviroment,
with P2V migrations of existing servers to new Dell R710
Hardware platform eliminating physical dependencies on failing
hardware.
- Installation of NSM Remote client on all workstations/servers/laptops/remote
user PC's allowing 24x7 Remote Desktop Support to users.
Client Satisfaction
“From one day to the next our biggest concern was
when the next server might fail, and how would it impact
us. We cannot express the gratitude we have to Interstate
for providing us with a cost-effective solution that gives
us operational piece of mind knowing that we are no longer
at risk for failure. In addition, the 24x7 access for support
for our users is invaluable, and something we never realized
we needed as much as we do.”
